LYME, NEW HAMPSHIRE

Dartmouth National Bank opened the first bank in Lyme in 1975 in the Nichol’s Hardware Building (now Stella’s and Lyme Hardware), where it operated until 1986. That year, it was acquired by Indian Head Bank and then by Fleet Bank two years later. Without a renewal of its lease, the Fleet Bank branch closed in 1994.

This was the perfect opportunity for Mascoma Bank to open their Lyme Branch in 1994. The Lyme branch of Mascoma Bank is housed in a building owned by Wayne Pike and is on the Historical Register. It has a central location near the lovely historic Lyme Common, surrounded by the horse sheds, church, Old Cemetery, Lyme Elementary School, and Lyme Town Library.
