Local businessman Paul Cray owned many gas stations throughout the Lancaster area and saw the need for another bank in town. He identified the property at the intersections of Routes 2, 3, and Main Street and found that he was already the owner! In this location, Peoples National Bank open a branch, which in July 2000 became a branch of Connecticut River Bank. Mascoma Bank acquired CRB in August 2014, and installed an island and drive-up ATM in 2017.
