CLAREMONT, NEW HAMPSHIRE

The Claremont office of Mascoma Bank started as two separate buildings. The red brick building was originally a shoe shop owned by George N. Farwell. It later became a residence. The white painted brick building also started as a shoe shop, owned by Mr. Farwell’s son, Nicholas Farwell, and was built around 1830. It remained a shoe shop until 1858. At that time, the buildings were turned into apartments and office space, along with a funeral home and welfare office. Connecticut River Bank opened an office in Claremont in 1982 on Pleasant Street and later moved to this current location in November 1992. Mascoma Bank acquired it in 2014.
