LITTLETON, NEW HAMPSHIRE

The Peoples National Bank of Littleton was conceived by a group of Littleton business and professional people to address a growing concern for a competitive market. This group worked for nearly a year to present a proposal to the regulatory authorities for the receipt of a character as a national bank. This federal charter was granted of August 24, 1966. The organizers of the bank purchased the Dr. James Bogle property at 3 Main St, and the house was move to Kilburn Street. A new bank building of Colonial brick design was erected at the Main Street site.

The opening was held on August 26, 1966 with Governor John King on hand for the ceremonies. The original board of directors consisted of Hugh Gallen, Stanley Harris, Dr. Richard Hill, Ambassador Robert Hill (President), Arthur Judd, Clinton Kelley, George McAvoy, Mack Musman, Vonley Ruggles, Maynard Sundman, William Walker, and Dr. Alexander Warden.

When the Littleton building was expanded in the 1990s, the exterior brick wall became an interior wall.
